MSP Class of 2018

 

 

Zeinab Chahine, MSP class of 2018. She will initiate her PhD at University of California, Riverside in Fall 2018. Zeinab was a MSP Bridges, IMSD, MARC and MHIRT scholar. She was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Si Honors Society and has received the Robert Ernst Prize Biological Sciences recognition from the School of Biological Sciences. She will conduct research in Kings College, London this summer.

Marvin Cortez, MSP class of 2018. He will initiate his PhD at Princeton University in Fall 2018. Marvin was a MSP Bridges, IMSD, MARC and MHIRT scholar. He conducted research in Kings College, London. He has a publication on PNAS. He was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society and has received the Campus Wide Honors recognition from the School of Biological Sciences.

Glenn Guardamondo, MSP class of 2018. He will initiate his MD/PhD at University of California, Riverside. Glenn was a MSP Bridges, IMSD and MARC scholar. Glenn received first place for his research presentation at the 2018 American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) meeting. He was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society. He received the Magna Cum Laude recognition from the School of Biological Sciences, UC, Irvine.

Lynnette Jackson, MSP class of 2018. She will initiate her PhD at Stanford University. Lynnette was a MSP IMSD and MARC scholar. Lynnette received first place for her research presentation at the 2016 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) meeting and at the 2017 Sigma Xi meeting. Among thousands of applicants Lynnette received the 2018 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program award and the 2018 UCI Chancellors distinct award. She was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society and received the Magna Cum Laude recognition from the School of Biological Sciences, UC, Irvine.

Betsy Juarez, MSP class of 2018. She will initiate her PhD at University of California, Irvine. Betsy was a MSP IMSD and MARC scholar and this fall she will join the graduate component of the IMSD program. Betsy received first place for her research presentation at the 2016 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) meeting and at the 2017 American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) meeting. She was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society and received the Magna Cum laude and the Phi Beta Kappa recognition from the School of Biological Sciences, UC, Irvine.

Michelle Kalu, MSP class of 2018. She will initiate her PharmD/ PhD at University of Southern California. Michelle was a MSP IMSD and MARC scholar. Michelle received first place for her research presentation at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) meeting, at the 2017 American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) meeting and the 2017 Sigma Xi meeting. She was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society. She received the Suma Magna Cum Laude and the Phi Beta Kappa recognition from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UC, Irvine

Jocelyne Lopez, MSP class of 2018. She will initiate her PhD at University of California, San Francisco in fall 2018. Jocelyne as a MSP IMSD, MARC, and MHIRT scholar. She conducted research in Spain and was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society. She received the Excellence in Research recognition from the School of Biological Sciences at UC, Irvine.

Koyinsola Oloja, MSP class of 2018. She will initiate her Masters California State University Long Beach in fall 2018. Koyinsola was a MSP IMSD scholar, she received the Deans award for Excellence in Research recognition from the School of Biological Sciences at UC, Irvine.

Nicholas Ramirez, MSP class of 2018. He will initiate his PhD at University of California, Los Angeles. Nicholas was a MSP IMSD and MARC scholar. He received first place in all of the conferences that he participated for his research presentation. These conferences included the 2016 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) meeting, the 2017 American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) meeting, and the 2017 Sigma Xi meeting. He was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society.

Carlos Vasquez, MSP class of 2018. He will initiate his PhD at University of California, San Diego. Carlos was a MSP Bridges, IMSD, MHIRT, and MARC scholar. He received first place for his research presentation at the 2016 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) meeting and the 2017 Sigma Xi meeting. He was inducted as an Associate member of the Sigma Xi Honors Society. He received the Honors in Chemistry recognition from the School of Physical Sciences, UC, Irvine
